Llogara tunnel

The excavation of one of the longest tunnels in Eastern Europe

The Llogara Tunnel is a road tunnel located in Southern Albania, near the Llogara Pass. This key route connects the coastal city of Vlorë with the southern town of Sarandë. The focus on the excavation phase of the tunnel has been to improve road safety and reduce travel time by bypassing the steep and winding mountain roads of the pass.

The excavation work has been a critical component of this significant infrastructure project. It involved creating a stable and safe passageway through the mountain, significantly shortening travel routes. The challenging terrain and complex geological formations required the use of advanced technologies and methods to ensure the stability of the structure and the safety of the workers and future users.

The successful completion of the excavation phase marks a crucial milestone in the project. Once completed, the tunnel is expected to enhance tourism and economic development in the region by providing a safer and more efficient route for transportation.
